All is Suffering-s/t 7"
I didn't know what to expect from this band, but I was pleasently surprised. Excellent metalic-hardcore, but I can hardly call it that, because they do the black metal thing so good, and so tough, that I bet they could eat Mayhem alive. This is a very dark record, that's not for going to sleep to, unless you want to have dreams about wars and evil, which actually now that I think about it, isn't that bad of a thing. There are a few quiet, intimate moments also, such as in Mauthausen (my favorite song of the three) where an eerie sounding gregorian-monk style chanting swirls up as the voices harmonize with each other, then give way to dark, epic, Norwegian style metal riffs played on the gritty, dirty guitars. The drumming is right on, with tight, fast blast beats and complex tribal drumming. This is alot harder than anything you're going to hear on the radio, and it stays far away from being cheesy, like alot of death/black metal bands end up coming off. For the cost of a 7", you should buy three copies of this. Info: All is Suffering/ 4220 Solomons Island Road/ Saint Leonard, MD 20658. Renaissance Recordings/ P.O. Box 66146/
